Please note that you MUST meet eligibility requirements to be enrolled in a trial. These requirements are outlined below:
Inclusion Criteria

Male patients > 18 years of age who have been vaccinated against smallpox as evidenced by scar at the vaccination site, verbalization by patient, written documentation, and/or prior military service;

Histological confirmation of adenocarcinoma of the prostate with evidence of metastatic disease including either of the following:

Lymph node metastasis measurable by CT and/or;
-
Bone metastasis evaluable by bone scan;

Refractory to hormone therapy defined by: evidence of two consecutive increases in PSA documented over a previous reference value, the first occurring a minimum of 1 week from the reference value, with one value of at least 5 ng/mL;

Castrate testosterone levels < 50 ng/dL consistent with orchiectomy or continuous treatment with GnRH agonists for the duration of the trial;

Gleason Score ≤ 7 (at initial diagnosis).
EXCLUSION CRITERIA

Concurrent or prior biologic therapy or immunotherapy for cancer;

Concurrent therapy such as palliative radiation or opioid analgesics for tumor-associated pain;

Radiation therapy within 28 days prior to registration;

Antiandrogen therapy or any other hormone therapy within 42 days of registration;

Prior chemotherapy for prostate cancer;
-
Metastasis to organ systems other than lymph nodes and bone;
-
Hypersensitivity to eggs or egg products;
-
Prior or concurrent extensive eczema or acute, chronic, or exfoliative skin disorders (e.g., extensive psoriasis, burns, impetigo, or disseminated zoster, varicella zoster, severe acne, or other open rashes or wounds).
Please note that there are additional eligibility criteria. The study center will determine if you meet all of the criteria.
If you do qualify to participate, study personnel will explain the trial in detail and answer any questions you may have. You can then decide whether or not you wish to participate. If you do not qualify for the trial, study personnel will explain the reasons.
