We are looking for two strong Process Development Managers to bring solid leadership to the team and be responsible for upgrading the manufacturing process to improve efficiency and GMP compliance for Phase III clinical trials and commercial scale manufacturing of recombinant poxvirus cancer vaccines. With the two positions, one will focus on Upstream Development and one on Downstream Development.

For downstream development we are looking for someone with experience developing and implementing purification aspects of process development including filtration, chromatography and centrifugation.

For upstream development we are looking for someone with experience developing and implementing new cell culture designs, methods or process modifications to improve purity, sterility, yields and formulation. You will utilize stir tank bioreactor, micro fluidization and cell lines with a focus on medium development, cell culture optimization and process validation.

In both positions we are looking for candidates that embrace our core values of Integrity, Innovation, Collaboration, Compassion, Commitment and Excellence. We are looking to hire a strong candidate with 10+ years experience in process/product development in a biotechnology/pharmaceutical environment. A successful candidate will also be a proven leader and manager with experience performing all management functions including hiring, developing, training, motivating and performance management,. This candidate should also be skilled at project planning and resource allocation. In addition, we need strong knowledge of translating bench/small scale manufacturing into large scale, GMP production.

For upstream development we need a BS/MS in Microbiology, Biochemical engineering or related discipline, Ph.D. preferred with strong knowledge of mammalian cell culture and protein/virus purification along with experience in stir tank bioreactor operations, basic principles of chemical engineering parameters and mammalian cell culture.

For downstream development we need a BS/MS in Microbiology or related discipline, Ph.D. preferred with strong knowledge of mammalian cell culture and purification / separation techniques, including virus purification; experience with stir tank technology is a plus.
